Lessons in Rapid City & Virtually

Established by two professional musicians with a profound love and dedication for teaching and performance, the Professional Violin Studio is a private violin teaching studio that offers violin and viola lessons to students in the Black Hills area of South Dakota. Both with extensive performance backgrounds and pedagogy training from major conservatories, Dr. Katie Smirnova and Brett Walfish moved to Rapid City to continue passing on the tradition of excellence and artistry to the younger generations. They are the co-founders of the Rushmore Music Festival, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, where they serve as Artistic and Executive Directors. The Festival is an intensive 6-week intensive solo & chamber music program for students from around the country, as well as a Faculty Concert Series in the Black Hills.

If you are interested in private music lessons for your child, we offer a free consultation/evaluation lesson.

Learn more about the instructors and their educational backgrounds HERE & Read the Testimonials kindly written by the parents of their former students in New York & Massachusetts.
